DUTCH YOUTH REGATTA 2009

It has been a fantastic Regatta!

This year more than 760 boats with more than 900 sailors from 19 countries were present.

Until the very last race we have seen concentrated sailing to reach for the top ranking. The weather conditions have treated us well: generally speaking we have had good winds and beautiful sunshine.

Thanks to the input of the Class organizations, Zeilvereniging Workum, Peter Lammers of the beach pavilion Strandzicht, Renault, friends, and the many volunteers the organization both on shore and on the water went very well. Almost all planned races have been sailed.
The races could be followed “life” on the DYR website. On shore the races were presented on the large screen in the RENAULT event tent. On the DYR site the races can be still be viewed. An impression of the regatta can be seen on: www.watersportverbond.tv or www.topzeilen.tv.

For everyone who has helped to make this years event a great youth sailing regatta:
